This was a good poster because: The poster was very detailed in its graphs which showed their results very well. The research also gave insight on how some female animals actually play the aggressive male role in obtaining food for their young. Amron My favorite poster was:

Aakash My favorite poster was: DNA Aptamers Targeting NFKB in environmentally induced oxidative stress
This was a good poster because: Both the researcher and the poster established a solid understanding about the topic. Also the fact the research was done prior to college impressed me. The poster was brief and clear and provided many images to explain the subject matter.

This was a good poster because: It was interesting research and the researcher was very knowledgeable about his subject and able to explain it clearly. The topic is also somewhat related to VDS and the presenter was a former VDS student.

This was a good poster because: It discussed an interesting topic, such as the improved reproductive aging in rats by the blocking of the NRZB subunit. It was also very concise and clear in the presentation of its information.

This was a good poster because: It was interesting how big of a factor diet can play in cancer. Also it related very well to humans and one of the most common cancers around

This was a good poster because: It was very detailed in explaining the research. The poster also included pictures and graphs to show the real time PCR results. There was a decrease in mRNA of the DNA with knocked down genes.

This was a good poster because: The researcher was very clear in explaining his research. It was interesting seeing evolution researched in context of digital organisms and how virtual modeling might be a more efficient way to study evolution because natural organisms might reproduce slowly or are harder to control.

Janice My favorite poster was: Clothing Choices of Preschool Females as Symbols of Sex Roles
This was a good poster because: I always wondered how people in a major outside of natural sciences performed research. Her objective was to investigate whether preschoolers chose transitional masculine or feminine clothing for various sex stereotyped play activities. It was interesting to hear that the gender identity is established during the late preschool years and appearance plays an important role as a nonverbal cue to establish a sense of masculinity and femininity. Ruifei My favorite poster was: Implementing Communication in OpenNERO to Evolve Cooperative Multi-Agent Behaviors using Real Time Neuroevolution of Augmenting Topologies
This was a good poster because: It discusses the vast potential of autonomous agent communications in artificial intelligence. Furthermore, this sort of research can be applied to a number of civilian and military functions wherein more effective AI communication can enhance performance.
Suman My favorite poster was: Clothing Choices of Preschool Females as Symbols of Sex Roles
This was a good poster because: The research was easy to understand, and it made me learn something knew about the attitudes and stereotypes young children have about wearing certain types of clothes. It was interesting to hear about how the data was collected and learn the results of what kids thought about dressing a certain way in today's society.

This was a good poster because: This was a good poster because the research they do correlates nicely with our research. From what I understand, they get the data that allow for the x-ray crystallography images used in VDS to be made.

Shashika My favorite poster was: The effects of avoidance, anxiety, and sex on cortisol levels in women in relationships.
This was a good poster because: Cortisol is a steroid hormone secreted when the body is experiencing stress. They ultimately discovered that women with lox anxiety and low avoidance as well as women with high anxiety and low avoidance were the most stable in the respect that high or low amounts of sex did not affect their cortisol levels. The poster also drew the conclusion women with high anxiety and high avoidance as well as women with low anxiety and low avoidance were greatly affected by the amount of sex they had.

Urvashi My favorite poster was: Effects of Operant Ethanol Self-Administration on Dopamine in Medial Pre-frontal Cortex of Long Evans Rat
This was a good poster because: This was the only poster I saw that had performed research involving animals; the effects of drinking alcohol on dopamine levels in rat brains were studied. The experimental design was complex but the research interesting and relevant to human behavior.
Zamaria My favorite poster was: The Final Assault on Polio
This was a good poster because: it tells that although we don't believe that polio is still an epidemic, it is still active in four countries and cases are showing up from time to time in others. The whole idea is that in 10 years, it is a feasible idea that it could be eradicated.

This was a good poster because its title reminded me of VDS at first, but it targets cancer exclusively, which is a disease close to my heart (thankfully not literally) that has little chance of being cured because cases vary so widely.
